UKRAINE IS NOW ON TMVIEW: WHY IT TRULY MATTERS FOR BUSINESS

October 22, 2025, marked a long-awaited milestone for the IP community. While it might sound technical, the impact is huge. The UANIPIO database is now officially integrated into TMview.

In short: nearly 600,000 Ukrainian trademarks are now visible to the world in a single click.

Let’s see why this is important for both the Ukrainian and international markets.

What is TMview?

It is a global trade mark search system run by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). It connects databases from 80 IP offices worldwide.

Before this, checking a trade mark in Ukraine and, for example, Spain meant using different databases with different languages. Now, TMview puts everything in one place. Today, it holds over 134 million records, including the full dataset from Ukraine.

What are the benefits for businesses?

The integration simplifies operations for businesses across borders:

1. Easy Market Entry.

Checking a brand in Ukraine used to be difficult for foreign companies due to language barriers. Now, they can see trademarks registered in Ukraine through the familiar EUIPO interface. Ukraine is now an accessible jurisdiction where checking a brand is as simple as it is in France or Germany.

2. Transparent Due Diligence.

For international investors, accessing Ukrainian data in TMview removes uncertainty. It makes the market transparent and speeds up business decisions.

3. Better Protection.

Ukrainian exporters can now easily track infringements in the EU. At the same time, global brands can quickly spot conflicting filings in Ukraine using one unified system.

4. Speed and Efficiency.

TMview is free and open. This saves time for lawyers worldwide when they need a quick trade mark check before filing an application.

Joining TMview is a real step toward European integration. Ukraine is technically syncing its database with Europe, becoming a key part of the global digital IP landscape.
