Ukraine sets up High Court for Intellectual Property

President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree to establish the High Court for Intellectual Property, according to his website.

Its headquarters will be in Kyiv.

The decree is effective from the date of its publication.

According to the State Judicial Administration, the court will have 21 judges who will deal with the disputes about copyright, trademarks, inventions, patents, author’s rights and administration of titles to intellectual property.

Last year, the Cabinet of Minister dissolved the State Service of Intellectual Property. Its functions were handed over to the Economic Development Ministry.
